Embroidered text looks simple, but small lettering is one of the least forgiving jobs in digitizing. Below about a quarter inch, satin columns get too narrow to hold thread cleanly, serifs close up, and letters start to blur into each other. The skill is knowing the minimum size each font can hold, and adjusting the digitizing — column width, density, and spacing — so the text stays crisp and readable at the size you are actually running.
Names on jerseys, staff names on uniforms, text on towels, slogans on workwear — each has its own requirements. Jersey names need to be bold and readable from a distance; a name on a polo needs to be clean and refined up close.
